The Great Gatsby Themed Reunion

Hello everyone!

These are some exciting times. We have finally chosen the venue where we are going to host this high school reunion. It was an extremely difficult decision because we had to choose between the Waterfall Banquet Hall and The Austin Room.

The Waterfall would have been gorgeous, but it would have been extremely risky to hold the party there. Their cost of admission is too pricey. According to the poll we ran recently, only 20.8% of our classmates were willing to pay the $80/head it would have cost for a ticket to Waterfall. We would have needed at least 150 people to show up to the event paying that price. This would have been difficult for many people to afford, especially those bringing a +1

On top of that, we are expecting a massive turnout for the reunion. If we had hosted it at the Waterfall, even with 250 people attending, there would have been very little overhead left over for us to actually put up any decorations or add any special features to the night.

In summary, Waterfall would have fallen far below our expectations because it would have essentially have been a ballroom with music and an open bar with nothing else.

  • No decorations
  • No centerpieces
  • No party favors
  • And since a large percentage of the class wouldn’t have been able to afford Waterfall, we would have had to have thrown a lot of elaborate fundraisers just to be able to accommodate them.

We ended up going with the Austin Room because it can accommodate 250 people, and it allows us to charge a much more affordable price.

At $65/ticket, we’ll be able to have everything a reunion should have:

  • Decorations
  • Centerpieces
  • Party Favors
  • Possible Ice Sculpture
  • Possible Prizes
  • Gift Baskets
  • A thematic event,
  • and so much more.

The theme will be The Great Gatsby. I am going to reveal more information about this in the upcoming days.  Essentially, we are going to be designing the room with decorations that align with The Great Gatsby and the roaring 20’s.

The dress code will be similar to what people would wear in that era. We’ll have a buffet, great music from back when we were in high school, and some awesome presentations that will help commemorate the night.

We’re also going to have some raffles and silent auctions. People will be able to walk away with prizes. Everyone who purchases a ticket will be automatically enrolled into a raffle. What this means is that everyone has a chance at walking away with something.

We’re looking to get some stellar prizes.

On top of that,

We’ll have:

  • A photo booth with unlimited photo strips
  • An incredible DJ- this is the guy that mentored Joe Broomall
  • A photographer
  • A Videographer
  • and so much more.

In the upcoming days, we’re going to start releasing information about the Gatsby Theme. You’re going to want to purchase a ticket just to save it as a piece of memorabilia.
